Não foi surpresa para ninguém. Deu Michael Jackson (This is It) com enorme vantagem para o segundo colocado, que também debuta nessa semana, Creed (Full Circle). A nova coletânea do rei do pop vendeu mais de 370 mil cópias, mais que o triplo das vendas dos roqueiros, 110 mil. 'This is it' ainda se tornou o quinto maior debut de 2009 e o sexto album de Michael a atingir o topo desse chart, além disso é o maior debut dele desde 'HIStory: Past, Present And Future-Book I', que debutou com 391 mil.

Michael Jackson ainda se tornou o 5º cantor em 25 anos, a ficar no topo do bb200 e no box-office americano/canadense, já que seu filme superou a marca de 23 milhões de dólares em renda na semana de abertura. Os outros foram: Prince, em 1984, com (Purple Rain); Whitney Houston, em 1995, com (Waiting To Exhale); Will Smith, em 1997, com (Men In Black); e Eminem, em 2002, com (8 Mile).

Com o relaçamento do 'Fearless', Taylor Swift volta a vender mais de 100 mil cópias numa única semana, garatindo a ela o 3º posto. Ainda nessa semana, o Abba (Gold - Greatest Hits, 1993) atingiu a marca de 5 milhões de cópias vendidas.

Cerca de 6,31 milhões de albuns foram comercializados, 10% a mais que a semana passada (5,72 milhões), mas 9% menor que a mesma de 2008 (6,96 milhões). Até o momento 287,6 milhões de cópias foram vendidas contra 332,3 de 2008.
